AWP/MEWP Annual Machine Inspection
(MEWP) MOBILE ELEVATING WORK PLATFORMS
Formerly termed (AWP) Aerial Work Platforms
ANSI A92.5 requires that Equipment Owners perform an Annual Machine Inspection no later than 13 months from the date of the prior Annual Machine Inspection. This Annual Machine Inspection is to be performed by a mechanic qualified on the specific make and model of aerial work platform.
New ANSI/CSA standards require performing daily walk-around inspections on Aerial Lifts (MEWP) and Class 7 Rough Terrain Forklifts ('Variable Reach' Forklift / ‘Telehandlers’).
